BISMARCK, N.D. - We live in a tap and go world now, and Legacy High School is adding a new technology that makes life quicker and easier for students and teachers.
Legacy is the first school in North Dakota to have a faster automated service that helps take attendance in the classroom. ScholarChip is the new smart ID card-based system that allows administrators to take attendance at a faster rate in large lecture courses. "It helps us quite a bit in large group because students are able to just scan in on their way in the door. That means that we have way more time for instruction in the classroom," said Dawn Krupinsky, English teacher.
Students at Legacy are excited to be the first school in the state to have this new system.
"It's been pretty cool, it's been a bumpy ride at the beginning, especially for us seniors who've been here for four years. But now that we're finally here, I just wish I could have been here for longer," said senior Naomi Gross. "It's pretty cool because you can just go in and scan in. You don't have to write your name anywhere, you just have to do a simple thing," said Freshman Roy Alicia.
Ryan Riehl, the assistant principal at Legacy says ScholarChip is the most cost-effective, easy thing to do to take attendance for large auditorium classes. "It's helping with not only the tracking of kids, but the efficiency of our teachers and our teachers now get to teach instead of take attendance," said Riehl.
Students say they are happy the school is giving them responsibility by allowing them to have this new technology.
So far, Legacy High School has 18 Scholar Chip card readers. If it keeps going well, they plan on adding the readers in every classroom.
Recently a competitor distributed misleading information regarding our contractural relationship with Datacard Products, implying that Bridgeway Solutions was being replaced. No way!!
Rest assured, Bridgeway Solutions is here to stay and will continue as the southeast's premiere ID solutions resource for sales, service, support and integration - including onsite installation and service.
While we are in contract negotiations which may alter our 40-year relationship with Datacard, WE WILL CONTINUE to provide Datacard products without interruption.
Here to Stay
Bridgeway Solutions has a long-standing and hard-won reputation as the Southeast's leading provider of full service identification and access management solutions.
What does full service mean? For our customers it means onsite service, dedicated customer care, and advanced software and hardware solutions that are engineered to provide long-term benefit, durability and expandability.
Sales and Service
Our management has 40 years experience as a Datacard Enterprise Solutions partner but last year, Datacard made territorial and management decisions that are not in keeping with our long-term goals.
Among other concerns, Datacard opened our well-established territory to opportunists - competitors that offer little to no value or service after the initial sale.
So Bridgeway Solutions may no longer be an "authorized" dealer but we WILL be there for our customers, helping them determine the right equipment for their needs and budget and standing behind our sales with dedicated customer service.
Perhaps you received a notice that implies Bridgeway Solutions will no longer be providing sales or service for Datacard products. This is not true.
Bridgeway Solutions isn't going anywhere and we will continue to offer sales, service and support for ID management and access control for software and hardware.
Unlike some, Bridgeway Solutions has never sold counterfeit products thinly disguised as genuine Datacard ribbons and we never will. We are trusted to deliver genuine supplies and parts. We honor state contract pricing. Learn more in our Blog post from last July.
From automating attendance to securing physical access and vetting visitors, K-12 and higher education administrators are challenged to provide a safer, more secure campus while maintaining an environment conducive to creativity and learning.
Enter smart ID cards - One Cards - for student and staff IDs. Far more than a photo ID with a specific color-coded design, the new generation of ID cards work much harder for their users and for the organizations issuing them. A smart ID card can be a secure "trigger" for automated attendance, physical access control for buildings, facilities or events, as a payment device on and off campus, and as a non-invasive vehicle for data collection.
Learn more about how smart ID cards can provide a comprehensive tool that lets you manage instantly available data, increase student safety and campus security, and develop potential revenue streams.
Bridgeway Solutions is accepting resumes for Technical Sales Consultants and Technical Support positions in Columbia, SC, Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA markets.
