A message from Rob Miskelly, President and General Manager, IDP Americas, Inc. ![]() As many of you know, IDP's printers are manufactured in South Korea (aka The Republic of Korea). South Korea is a long time and strong trading partner of the US and Canada, and thus is US Trade Compliant (for GSA or State Contract schedule holders). Please remember that IDP does NOT manufacture major components in China, even our mainboards and sub-boards are manufactured on-site at our factory. Because of this, our customers will not see any tariff price increases from IDP. IDP's parent company, IDIS Holdings, purchased the majority share of Bixolon in 2018 (www.bixolon.com). Bixolon is a large manufacturer of thermal paper and label printers, so it was natural to combine manufacturing facilities. Since combining both factories under one roof in mid-2019, IDP has been able to leverage shared resources resulting in higher build quality, reliability and increased production capacity. IDP’s production goal is clear: "To achieve zero defects through the fast stabilization of mass produced products.” Learn more about IDP Smart Series id card printers. |
